Creator of She-Geeks, Eris Walsh, is a writer and public speaker specializing in positive body image, cosplay etiquette/anti-harassment, and the importance of diversity and representation in pop culture. In addition to the She-Geeks webpage, several of her popular articles can be found on The Mary Sue, Geek Girls, and XO Jane. Hailing from New Orleans, Eris is also the woman behind the geek centric event production/planning company, Nerd Love NOLA; bringing nerds together at parties, weddings, and original events like ‘Dungeons & Dating’ and ‘Cards Against Humanity Tournaments’. Most recently, Eris has ventured into the world of webcomics as the co-creator and dinosaur half of The Adventures of ScottBunny and Erisaurus.
Attending conventions is one of Eris’ favorite things, which is probably why she’s been doing it for nearly 20 years. She particularly enjoys scouring conventions for fantastic examples of cosplay craftsmanship, and discussing role-playing games (both table top and LARP), comics, movies, etc. with other enthusiasts. Eris is also one of the pioneers of ‘Sunday Onesies’ at conventions, and encourages everyone to participate by wearing their favorite pair of onesie pajamas to the convention on Sunday (bonus points if dinosaurs are involved)!
